First things first is you’ll need a small heavy pot, with a lid. Add the amount of rice you would like to cook, there are no measurements in this, and rinse the rice. 1 cup of uncooked rice, equals 2 cups of cooked rice and so on.

Add rice to the pot, slowly add water to pot, about an inch of water, you measure by using your knuckle finger. Make sure the rice in the pan is even and you have no “hills”. Place pointer finger in rice so that your finger just touches the top of the rice and the water level is right at the knuckle as pictured. Need more water, add slowly, too much water, remove some.

Measure the water to this point on your finger, no matter the amount of rice.

Next bring the rice to a boil over medium heat, not high, medium. Once rice has started to boil hard and you see bubbles making holes in the rice as pictured, rice starts to “popcorn”, cover the pot with a lid, turn stove to Lo or the lowest setting on your stove.

Let cook with lid on lo for 15 minutes. Remove rice from stove after 15 min, KEEP LID ON and sit covered a minimum of 5 minutes. When ready to serve fluff with a fork. BOOM.. perfect rice every single time.

The rice cooks and these steam pockets form, look how lovely. These pockets are those large bubbles from boiling the rice earlier.
