Garlic Ginger Chicken

Ingredients

  • Perfect white rice

  • 1lb boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into small cubes

  • 5 tablespoons Tamari

  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

  • 1 small white onion, chopped

  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 1 bushel green onions, sliced

  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • canola oil

  • sesame seeds, optional

Mix vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, tamari and water in a small bowl.

Over medium heat large skillet a little vegetable oil, add onions and cook slightly. add your sauce and bring to a simmer, mixing often for about 10 minutes. Pour out sauce and set aside.

In a large bowl add cornstarch to the chicken and mix in a bowl. Add beaten egg and mix well.

In the same skillet you cooked the sauce in, add oil and heat to medium high. Add chicken to skillet and fry for 7 minutes. start flipping chicken. Once flipped break chicken apart with a spatula. Continue frying chicken on the other side till crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

Add sauce to pan and cover chicken in sauce. Allow to simmer till sauce thickens. Sauce will thicken with some of the corn starch in the pan.

Serve over perfect white rice, top with sesame seeds and green onion.
